Dinah Douglas

we lie here.
you seeking peacefulness in books,
and i discovering my own serenity
in nestling
into you.
and it occurs to me,
first as a physical stirring...
then a fixed
          unalterable thought:
where we love
is where we lay our head.
for, as my head slowly moves from
that warm soft crevice
between your neck and shoulder,
onto your silky breast --
my very own haven --
and then reaches a last resting place
upon your stomach,
just above the wonder of you...
i realize, again,
as in so many other moments
such as this...
how deeply and completely
i do
love you.

What better way to celebrate my 3 year wedding anniversary then to post a poem that so perfectly describes my sentiments for my husband.
