Out of nothing, cast on, increase. Knitting is a chance to enclose a space; space for a hand or a head or even a body. I have limited space, but I can carve out a little and send it on with a mitten or a hat or a sweater. I send a hat out with captured space inside. Perhaps the wearer will feel the cool mountain air trapped inside. Bind off.

Interesting, the form of this prose poem is a metaphor of the content. Out of nothing...something to think about.
