Looking Up
Patricia Parkinson

Tonight I imagined the hip
of a woman.
I reached my hand
to the small of her back,
her skin,
soft and caramel.
Her hip curved and sloped
and I slide my fingers
to the underside
of her belly
that is smooth
and ignored.

I opened my
eyes to see if
hers were closed,
if her face
was held
in a moment
and he looked down
and saw,
that I wasn't
with him

Gorgeous and sensual. Brings to my mind the work of the French poet Pierre Louys.
