Summer
Emma Webb

Summer is here
Fall is near
The sun is shining bright
Your clothes arenít really tight
Beach chairs are being loaded

Flowers are blooming
Shadows are constantly looming
Bathing suits are stocked
Teachers are no longer chalked
Everyone is in a better mood

The trees are green
Mountains are clearly seen
Shorts are in style
Walking a little feels like running a mile
Pools are crowded

Days are hotter
People read Harry Potter
Humans smell like sunscreen
Itís the life for teens
Summer is here

This poem reminds me of a wonderful week at the beach with my favorite neice. . .but sometimes the clothes ARE really tight.

Way to go Emma! Lazy, hazy days of summer spiced with rasberry toe nail polish and "just us girrrls"! Reading Emma's poem is like a day-dream'n mini-vacation. Love it. - Lyn

Oh, Emma - I am once again "chalked"! Your poem takes me back to very pleasant thoughts of my lawn chair and horcruxes. Good job!
