Stained Sky Salutation
Lela Schneidman

    holding wilted flowers
  on a highway, a woman
      walks in grief and
 sees the sky, painted in
   streaks of bleach and
       gold, a midnight
         chemical spill
      and the loneliness
     of this moment was
          impenetrable
  the stems crumbling in
   her fingers and petals
falling lightly on concrete.
